Overview

SelfStop is an ongoing research app for studying self-regulation during short-form video viewing on Android and iOS. It hosts Reels and Shorts in an in-app WebView and supports different viewing and intervention conditions.

Collaboration

Conducted in collaboration with Gangnam Severance Hospital, Yonsei University, and an HCI research team at Sungkyunkwan University.

What I Contributed

My work focuses on platform integration and data collection development within the project.

  • Supported the integration of short-form video viewing and intervention flows across Android and iOS.
  • Worked on logging viewing time, video entry events, and intervention events.
  • Worked on local event storage and retryable synchronization with Supabase.

Research App Scope

The app supports Baseline, Black, and Live study conditions. Viewing and intervention logs support the study’s data collection needs.

Current Status

Development and validation are ongoing. The Black intervention and return-to-viewing flow have been reviewed in an iOS demonstration video. Full physical-device validation and study deployment are not yet complete.
